Columbus ‘Snow Warriors’ treating bridges ahead of dropping temperatures

All of Central Ohio is under a freeze warning overnight as temperatures are forecasted to be in the 20s.

The City of Columbus’s Snow Warriors said they are treating the bridges as a precaution to help prevent freezing.

The metro area will be under a freeze warning from 2 a.m. until 10 a.m. Tuesday. The temperatures are likely to drop into the mid-20s causing frost and freeze conditions.

Good Wednesday morning! You may want a sweatshirt or hoodie for today because it will be cooler and feel cooler with a brisk breeze out of the north, 10-15 mph. We will be partly cloudy today with more clouds the closer you live or travel to Lake Erie. Our temperatures are starting off around 60 and then we warm up to a high around 73. Wednesday night, we will have a few passing clouds with low temps in the lower 50s. Outlying areas may dip into the upper 40s overnight. Mostly sunny on Thursday with a high of 77 and the winds becoming a little slower, 5-15 mph.

Central Ohio braces for heatwave: Columbus offers cool retreats

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Temperatures are expected to be in the 90‘s through Friday and Central Ohio will be under an excessive heat watch Thursday.

The City of Columbus is reminding residents of free public spaces open to all to cool down. Including malls and libraries.

“We have 23 library locations serving Franklin County. Each one of those 23 is equipped with air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and of course great books. And plenty of spaces to sit hang out relax. We always like to say come loiter at the library. How many places can say that? Come loiter,” said Ben Zenitsky with Columbus Metropolitan Library.

Good Friday morning! Skies will still be a little hazy today, but the air quality has improved just enough that we are not under an air quality alert for today. There still could be times when the air quality may be poor, but overall we will see an improvement for the day in whole.

Columbus Weather: Chilly and cloudy day ahead

It’s going to be chilly on Monday with some spotty rain, more to the north, the next couple of days then a little sun followed by heavier rain on the way.

Be sure to keep the jacket handy! It will be mostly cloudy with temps in the mid-30s this morning then in the 40s most of the day.

A few spotty showers are expected today but mainly to the north. A light breeze will be coming out of the northwest at 5-10 mph.
