Resetting Ohio State football’s defensive depth chart after the spring

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football came out of the Rose Bowl with genuine questions at no fewer than seven defensive positions for 2022.

It did not need to solve all of them this spring, especially considering defensive coordinator Jim Knowles was installing a new scheme and making his first talent evaluations. What one could see developing this spring is more layers of security throughout a defense that struggled with scheme problems and injury-depleted talent gaps last season.
