It was an exciting morning at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium on Tuesday as renovations began on one of the zoo’s oldest regions.
The North America region’s new, immersive habitats will give guests a new way to visit their favorite animals, and the region’s curator, Nikki Smith, says she’s excited for guests to experience these.
“The otters in our habitat love to swim. They love to dive,” Smith said. “It’s not something that our guests get to experience currently, so I’m really looking forward to sharing that with them.”
