COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Hundreds of people took part in the Walk to Defeat ALS, hosted by the ALS Association’s Central and Southern Ohio Chapter.
The walk raised more than $256,000. The funds will benefit those with ALS, otherwise known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, and their families and go towards research to find a cure.
Before the walk started, people living with ALS and their family members shared their stories. Participants also heard from a family who lost its loved one to the disease.
