COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — A Columbus community group is now offering summer jobs to kids and providing a safe haven for people who are on the streets.
The group Our Brother’s Keeper is nearing the end of its summer youth program that taught kids how to do yard work, carpentry and life- skills, including how to open a bank account.
“Very effective,” said 16-year-old Calvin, who took part in the summer program. “They show you how you can make money without doing violent things or carry a weapon around.”
