COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football will open the season with a primetime showdown in Ohio Stadium against Notre Dame on Saturday, Sept. 3.
A kickoff time of 7:30 p.m. was announced on Tuesday. The game will be shown on ABC, and ESPN GameDay will set up in Columbus for the day. It will be GameDay’s 21st visit to Columbus, the last coming on Nov. 20 last season when the Buckeyes hosted Michigan State in a top-10 matchup. Ohio State won that one to improve to 15-5 when GameDay camps outside Ohio Stadium.
Also, ABC claimed the fourth game of the season for the Buckeyes, their Big Ten opener at home on Sept. 24 against Wisconsin. That kickoff time has not yet been set.
