COLUMBUS, Ohio — Call it a dream, a wish, or a goal; whatever the phrase Samantha Hackenbracht is making it happen.
Hackenbracht is in her senior season as a catcher and power hitter for Ohio State softball. Last year, she finished tied for fourth in the Big Ten in home runs (16), third in slugging percentage (.755), and second in runs batted in (52). She also led the team in those categories, including doubles (12) through all 53 games.
But playing for a power five softball program is a feat she and her family could’ve only dreamt of when she was a kid.
